“In 1998, when our first shipment arrived here from Saudi Arabia, a revolution began in the building materials industry, and outdated systems started being replaced rapidly.”
That is how Mr. Muhammad Shoaib, Managing Director of Pak Arab Company, describes the turning point for his family business.
In 2002, the company set out to replace asbestos, cast iron, GI, MS and RCC pipe systems across Pakistan.

A Family Business with a Long History
Mr. Shoaib says his forefathers had been doing this work since Pakistan was established.
He and his family continued it.
“We have simply introduced innovation into the industry,” he said, “particularly in terms of speed.”
PVC production began in Pakistan in 1968 with 5,000 tons of capacity. Pipes were limited to electrical conduits and underground water supply at that time.
By 1998, capacity grew to 35,000 tons.
From 1998 Onward | Replacing Outdated Systems
Pak Arab installed its first machine in 2002, already importing pipes and fittings for water supply, sewage, and hot-water use. That year it set a clear goal: replace Pakistan’s conventional systems.

- Asbestos-based systems were replaced first, then cast iron
- 2005: CPVC pipes, as an alternative to GI pipes
- 2008: PVC pipes up to 24 inches, as an alternative to MS pipes
- 2014: Spiro pipes with spiral technology, as an alternative to RCC pipes
Over the next 20 years, consumption rose to 250,000 tons, and industries grew from 300 to 1,500.
What Pak Arab Offers Today
The main offer is a complete system for any pipes and fittings project. The company’s vision is to offer the full PVC range under one roof, for all needs and requirements.
The company has also added PE and later PPR as material requirements changed.
Plans include:
- A WPC door plant, now being set up
- Wall panels
- A roofing sheet joint venture, which he calls a major development
- Early talks on a window products joint venture
How the Partnership with HiTech Machinery Began
Mr. Shoaib met HiTech’s founder, Mr. Habib-ur-Rehman, in China long ago, and it made a strong impression.
Pak Arab bought two machines from HiTech about eight to ten years ago, and began working together properly a few years back.
“The support we received from HiTech Machinery was remarkable. I am not exaggerating; I am telling you the truth,” he said. He added that this was not a pre-planned review: “I am being completely clear and honest.”
Pak Arab now has quite a few HiTech injection molding machines and recently bought five, with six more in the pipeline.
Technology and After-Sales Support

He compares his Tederic and UWA machines to smartphones: when a new iPhone launches, the old one feels outdated since the new one comes with a bundle of new features.
Each new HiTech machine does the same to his older ones. Every machine has new features and technologies.
“The service and technical backup we have received from HiTech Machinery are unlike anything we have received from any other supplier,” he said.
- Customer first: The team visits you, finds your pain points, and brings solutions to your doorstep
- Always reachable: Available almost 24/7, even outside Pakistan
- Like friends: They go beyond professionalism and work to protect you from losses
Asked for a score out of 10, he said: “I would say HiTech Machinery is number one.”
The reason is simple: he has found no other injection molding supplier in Pakistan with the same support.
Made in Pakistan Vision | “I Am Myself an Example”
Mr. Shoaib bought his entire factory through HiTech Machinery to achieve export quality.
“What is there that we cannot export?” he asks. Anything can be exported, he says, if the quality is right.
- Raw material, machinery and molds may come from abroad
- Labour in Pakistan is relatively inexpensive
- You need good machinery, capable people and, above all, passion
“If you do not have passion or the determination to accomplish something, then no matter how much money you have, it will be of little use,” he said.
Advice for New Entrepreneurs
Many viewers have money to invest but worry about the challenges.
Mr. Shoaib says that, as Pak Arab replaced imports and outdated systems, the new entrepreneurs should also use the latest machines and facilities provided by HiTech.
With the right guidance and equipment, starting small or large becomes much easier.
Asked if the industry welcomes newcomers, he said, “Yes, absolutely.”
His advice to HiTech: keep expanding. “Today, you are working in injection molding. Tomorrow, you could enter extrusion,” and then textiles.
There is a lot of space available to expand.
